PRESS RELEASE - THE LIVING WAS EASY
John Moran, generally known as "The Ferret" was born and bred in Central Queensland.
He grew up in and around the town of Rockhampton where he spent time with cattle on the road in his early years and later when old enough, graduated to driving trucks as a profession - one that he was to follow all of his working life.
He left Central Queensland in his early twenties and moved to South East Queensland with ambition to drive bigger and better trucks.
Writing poetry began when The Ferret was bout thirty and he hasn't put the pen down since.
He went on to write the gossip column and the personality column for the largest trucking magazine in Australia - "Truckin' Life", for seventeen years and was often quoted as the "best known truckie in Australia".
John is the Co-founder and National Ambassador for Convoy for Kids, the biggest truckies charity ever in this country.
He has been inducted into the National Road Transport Hall of Fame and is a life-member of eight other convoys around the country.
This album, "The Living Was Easy" is a journey of John's life, from his younger days in Rockhampton to the present day - now a spritely young seventy-something.
Through music and song, The Ferret shares about the places he has been, the people he has met along the way - a lot of colourful characters who have touched his life in the nicest of ways.
